A simple way to measure a project is to divide it into a series of squares or rectangles.

Measuring and multiplying the length times the width with a metric tape measure will give you the area. For triangular areas measure and multiply the two sides at 90 degrees to each other and divide them by two for the answer.

Adding the series of answers will give you the overall square meter’s in the project.

As a general rule of thumb and depending on the complexity of the job you may need to add a waste factor of approximately 10%
